Music Distribution & Release
How long does Hankad take to get my music on Spotify and Apple Music?
Once your release is approved, it typically takes between 1 to 4 weeks to appear on most major platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. For artists needing faster distribution, our complimentary Fastlane option allows for up to 6 priority releases per month, ensuring delivery within just 7 days—at no extra cost to you.
Can I transfer my existing music to Hankad and keep my streams and playlists?
Yes, it’s possible to transfer your music to Hankad from another distributor while preserving your existing streams and playlist placements. However, this process requires meticulous matching of your release metadata. Please contact our support team for personalized guidance and assistance with this transition.
Can I use my own ISRC and UPC codes for my music releases?
Absolutely! Hankad allows you to use your own pre-assigned ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) and UPC (Universal Product Code) for your tracks and albums. Alternatively, we can assign these unique identifiers for you at a nominal fee of 0.75€ per ISRC and 1€ per UPC, which will be conveniently deducted from your future royalty earnings.
Can I distribute cover songs and remixes through Hankad?
Yes, you can release cover songs and remixes through Hankad. However, it is crucial that you obtain all the necessary licenses and permissions for the underlying compositions and samples. Please be aware that Hankad is not responsible for any copyright infringements related to unlicensed material.
Royalties & Payments
When does Hankad pay out royalties to artists?
Your royalty earnings are updated on a monthly basis. You can view your detailed royalty statement conveniently on the 1st of each month. Once your total account balance reaches a minimum of €50, you become eligible to request a payout.
How does Hankad pay artists their earnings?
To receive your earnings, please submit your invoice through the invoice form by the 5th of the month. We strive to process these payments within the same month, utilizing Payoneer as our preferred & convenient payment method.
What commission or percentage does Hankad take from my music earnings?
Hankad operates on a commission-based model, taking 20% of your earnings to cover the costs associated with global music distribution, platform maintenance, and administrative services.
Rights & Ownership
Does the artist retain 100% ownership of their music with Hankad?
Yes, absolutely! At Hankad, we firmly believe that artists should always maintain complete control over their creative work. You retain 100% of the rights and ownership to your music when you distribute through our platform.
Music Publishing Administration
What are the advantages of Hankad's music publishing administration services?
Hankad offers optional music publishing administration services that go beyond standard distribution. These services are designed to help you collect additional royalties generated from the use of your underlying musical compositions (your songwriting). This includes earnings from radio airplay, television and film synchronization (sync), public performances, and mechanical royalties—ensuring you maximize your revenue streams beyond just streaming and downloads.
